Marlon Shirley was the world’s fastest Track and Field amputee until his record was broken this past weekend. Shirley’s record was broken at the U.S. Paralympic Track and Field Trials at IUPUI in Indianapolis.

The record was broken by Jonathan Peacock of Great Britian who crossed the line with a time of 10.85 seconds, breaking Shirley’s world record. Shirley finished seventh in the 100 meter coming in at 11.45 seconds.

Shirley commented shortly after the race saying that he hasn’t quite grasped the concept that the title he previously held is now gone. Shirley is also reconsidering not returning to Track & Field, he is going to reevaluate whether is heart is still in it or not!
